Corbridge Engineered Oak Herringbone: Where It Works Best
Corbridge is a prime grade engineered oak herringbone floor, factory lacquered. Prime grade oak is selected for a clean, consistent look, with only small, occasional knots and minimal colour variation. It suits contemporary and minimalist interiors where you want the herringbone pattern itself to take centre stage.
The finish
A factory-applied lacquer seals the surface, making it durable and easy to keep clean. There is no finishing to do on site, so the floor is ready to live on as soon as it is laid, which makes it a practical choice for hallways, kitchens and busy family rooms.
Block size and construction
At 70 x 350mm, these blocks are a classic parquet size. They give a well-proportioned herringbone that sits naturally in almost any room, from living rooms and dining rooms to bedrooms and hallways.
Each block has a 4mm real oak wear layer bonded to a stable multi-layer base, 11mm thick overall. The engineered construction is less prone to movement than solid wood, and the 4mm oak top layer means the floor can be sanded and refinished in future.
Fitting your herringbone floor
Herringbone is laid with separate left and right blocks to create the zigzag pattern, and is normally fixed to a flat, dry, prepared subfloor. For the best result we recommend an experienced floor fitter. Not sure whether herringbone is right for your room? Caring for Corbridge
Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a damp (not wet) mop and a lacquer-friendly wood floor cleaner. Use felt pads under furniture and mats at entrances to help protect the finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I see a sample first?
Yes. We always recommend seeing the floor in your own light before ordering. You can order a flooring sample of Corbridge online, or contact us for advice.
How much flooring should I order?
Measure the area in square metres and allow extra for cutting. Herringbone usually needs a larger allowance than a straight-laid floor (often around 10 to 15%), because of the angled cuts at the edges. Our team can help you work out the right quantity.
Can Corbridge be used with underfloor heating?
Suitability for underfloor heating depends on the system and how the floor is installed. Get in touch and we will confirm the right approach for Corbridge in your home.
