?Hula Hooping Girl? was originally painted on the side of a wall of a beauty salon in Nottingham on 13 October 2020. Claimed by Banksy it depicts a young girl hula-hooping?with a bicycle tire, next to a bicycle that is missing its rear wheel, attached to a nearby signpost.
Although essentially criminal damage, John Brandler who now owns many of the banksy walls,??believes the country is better off preserving its heritage and by keeping the art safe ( rather than being painted over by other graffiti artists, the public or council) he stepped in.
After paying a substantial amount of money to cut the painting out of the wall and removing the bricks to a museum, John Brandler feels it would have been lost forever, like 85% of Banskys street art.
The art was later showcased at the Moments exhibition at Moyse Hall, Bury st Edmunds.
